BHS Trust Fund Holiday Announcement 2020
It is now nearing three months of lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic. We very much hope that you, your family, and friends have stayed safe and well.
As you know, this has been a very difficult and unprecedented time not only for the United Kingdom but for the whole world. Now that the government has announced an easing of the lockdown, I am sure this will be a relief for many of you. For others, the relaxing of some of the restrictions might cause concern and you may feel the need to continue to tread carefully.
Here at the BHS Trust Fund, the Trustees and team have continued to support former BHS employees, at the same time ensuring that our working practices enable us to maintain our duty of care to all our beneficiaries. With the government’s new phase of guidelines, the Trustees are aware we must all move forward slowly, cautiously and respect others – none of us want to see a second spike in this dreadful virus.
Given the many challenging factors impacting travel both within and outside of the UK, the Trustees have taken the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Annual Holiday and reschedule to 2021 any UK holiday breaks that have been awarded. We will be getting in touch with any individual with a UK Break separately.
The Trustees are sorry to have to make this decision but are sure you will fully understand the reasons for this. The pandemic has affected us all in many different ways, so please remember that we’re here to help any former BHS employees facing hardship or other difficulties.
